It Ain’t You
Well that last song was inspired by the fact that I worked in the mental health industry for a long time boy…
and there’s a friend of mine in here I know Fred back there he works in the mental health industry… thank you Fred for coming
Anybody out here working in the mental health industry?
Well if you worked in the mental health industry like I did you’d know that we gotta specialized vocabulary
It’s a specialized kinda vocabulary in the mental health industry you know
and although this song is not a bout the mental health industry per se it does utilize that specialized vocabulary here we go…
It ain’t you baby
It ain’t you who’s got me down
It ain’t you
It ain’t you who’s got me down
It all my own damn issues baby
I project on anyone who comes around
It ain’t you baby
It ain’t you who worries me
It ain’t you
It ain’t you who worries me
It all them old tapes playin’ baby
Playin’ in my head constantly
Yea, they say that you don’t love me
and that you’ll never stay
They say I shouldn’t trust you
cause you’ll break my heart some day
But it ain’t you
It ain’t you who plays these games
No its my own pathology baby
to look for someone close to me to blame
Well it could a been a childhood trauma
that I still repress today
Or maybe it’s a chemical imbalance
that makes me feel this way
But it ain’t you
It ain’t you who’s acting strange
No you’re perfectly normal baby
I’m the one who’s deranged
