Age-old adage: “Better to stay silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.”
Brian’s addendum (is this even a correct usage of that word?): Better to share an idea and be shown its error than to hold back and remain ignorant.

Sometimes I feel like another version of myself
Similar perhaps, to how Billy Pilgrim felt
when he was time-traveling
As I trace yet another frame
happily chatting with my sweetheart
Waimanalo stream fills with trout
They will never see the ocean
A loon calls in the distance
and the smell of wet clay
mixes with that of hot coffee n cream, hot cacao n honey
yogurt, granola and blueberries
I feel her soft lips on my neck
her loving arms embrace my hunched-over back
Time to break for breakfast
——
Back in this version
I think of our last conversation
about family relations
obligation and choice
We get to decide how we live our lives
We don’t get to choose how the universe responds
Is it any wonder?
There is always room for that
The days will come n go
yet again
Version after version
flash before me
like the enchanted dreams
in an age-old love story
only now being told
——
Blessed…
