it’s gone that fear
that maddeningly pernicious apprehension that has been digging within me for so long

yes
it’s gone

no more digging
no longer is that fear burrowing like a frightened mole
ever excavating those built-up bulwarks of consciousness into the dark crevices of my monkey mind

it simply vanished
and…

save some subtle shadows
lurking like a left over hyperawareness of an obsolete pleasantry
or some kind of vestigial armor

and…

looks like it’s not coming back
