5/13/19: The Morning Practice (Repurposing Darkness)

7:07 am
Nothing is the same
What goes in
What comes out
but here it comes again

Inhale, two, three, four, five, six
Exhale, two, three, four, five, six

All I can do
is do
be
doo be doo

What I intend to do
is far from relevant
here and now
in the jungle

No longer alone
No longer as I was

I was going to write a piece about pain
share some thoughts on human cruelty
triggered in me by something
of which I have no control
but bear witness to its effects
everyday

but then the day passes
and I am reminded
of what it is in my life
I truly can effect
everyday

——

7:21 am
My sweetheart may call soon
These mornings are sacred to me

——

8:54 am
My sweetheart’s call
my… aware-with-all
all bulwark
all ramparts
buttressing all

All still
that might still tumble
crumble and fall
into darkness
a darkened ness from where
I will still hear
Her loving call

——

Blessed…
