Not sure I’d call it a nightmare
but there were monsters
Huge, Godzilla-style things that flew overhead and came down to terrorize the lot of us
Us, not sure who we were
but we were trapped in a building of some kind
I remember wandering around before the attack
more curious than afraid
there were strange, little folk
it looked as though they were quarantined for some reason
in an isolated room that I could see into yet
not enter
normal-looking of a sort and yet
the feeling I got off them was
clearly not human
Then I saw a man in there with them
no… it was more like the shadow of a man
I couldn’t make out what he was doing and then
And then the trees outside the window through which I was looking started moving
a deafening roar accompanied the massive, thumping footsteps of the thing
I ran to another part of the building
unscathed
I had no sense of time and then
Another creature over head
flying like a cross between a pterodactyl
and the devil
as it swooped, I cowered into a small corner
but I never felt anything real
no impending danger
until
somehow, I was now in a room with several others
we were obviously being held
like prisoners
watched by someone
or some…
thing
I remember then being called to assist someone
someone from another room
he was in a wheelchair
I began taking him where I’d thought I’d been instructed to
as I began going up a ramp he began crying out
“Wait, you can’t take me up these stairs”
they weren’t stairs but…
then they were
I felt like I was trying to stop taking the man up the stairs in the wheelchair
but I kept doing it
he began making an odd noise
like a muffled, gurgling scream
as he did this, he began to dissolve
his body began to flow
like a broken egg
the sound stopped
as the flowing body
spread out on the floor
it distorted and moved
and took the shape of a creature
flat against the floor and then
the walls
The flat creature floated around me
ominously
and I woke up
Yea, I guess it was a nightmare
