Menya Le Nood was packed this afternoon.

Tommy, Kev and I had to wait for quite a while but as usual… It was worth it.

I miss the large reproductions of sumi-e (a style of ink painting) by Miyamoto Musashi on the walls from back when the place was named after that sixteenth century ronin/phosphor/artist.

They covered the walls and added nicely to the atmosphere of the high quality Japanese noodle shop. But Menya Musashi is a chain restaurant and so when the management left that company and went independent, they not only had to change the name but they also had to paint over the those beautiful images.

Now, the walls are simply white, like they have yet to decide what to do with them.

The noodles are still exquisite.

Tommy and Kev were in top form (as usual) discussing everything from their latest Netflix picks, to the great deal Tommy got on a classic guitar he just bought. I love these guys. It’s such a comfortable and fun time hanging out with them and our weekly dinners together are one of the highlights of my week.

Today we did lunch because Kev had a family thing.

It was a good change because it gave me a chance to just go home and talk on the phone with my sweetheart for two hours. We’re not going to be able to do that as often when I go back to work sometime next week. Better squeeze in as much as we can while we can.

I can’t wait to bring my sweetheart to Menya Le Nood

She’s gonna love it.

Blessed…
